  • The most accessed information about monogenic diabetes worldwide is the Exeter Genetic Diabetes group, which provides information on all aspects of monogenic diabetes for both patients and doctors. Their website is www.diabetesgenes.org. This group identified the role of the Kir6.2 and SUR1 genes in neonatal diabetes and has pioneered the transfer off insulin in both neonatal diabetes and MODY. They have diagnosed more monogenic diabetes of all types than any other international center and hence have considerable experience with the clinical issues involved in diagnosis and treatment of monogenic diabetes.

  • The National Diabetes Information Clearinghouse collects resource information about diabetes for the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) Reference Collection. This database provides titles, abstracts, and availability information for health information and health education resources. The NIDDK Reference Collection is a service of the National Institutes of Health.

If you wish to perform a search of the database, you may access and search the NIDDK Reference Collection database online.

  • The University of Chicago's Kovler Diabetes Center has established a National Registry for Neonatal Diabetes with JDRF support. Inquiries should be directed to Dr. Lou Philipson at l-philipson@uchicago.edu. The Center's investigators not only study such forms of diabetes as MODY, PND, and TND, but also provide genetic testing, support, and information to patients and physicians in the U.S.
